With Support from Tyler Perry, Caring For Others to Provide Food and Warmth for 2,000 Atlanta Families in Need
Caring for Others, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to ending poverty through both emergency relief and long-term empowerment, announced today that it will host its Annual Harvest Distribution on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the organization’s headquarters, 3537 Browns Mill Road, Atlanta, GA 30354.
As part of the organization’s Harvest Distribution, it will provide fresh, nutritious food, warm coats, and household essentials to more than 1500 families preparing for the winter season. With one in four children in Atlanta struggling with hunger and one in five families unsure of where their next meal will come from, Caring for Others remains steadfast in its mission to ensure no family goes hungry.
This year’s effort is made possible in part through a major donation from Tyler Perry, whose generosity is helping Caring for Others expand its reach and impact for families across Georgia.
“We are deeply grateful for Tyler Perry’s support,” said Dr. Eslene Richmond-Shockley, Founder, President, and CEO of Caring For Others. “His kindness allows us to extend our mission even further, to allow those experiencing a difficult time to have the necessities and remind families that they are not forgotten.”
The Harvest Distribution brings together hundreds of volunteers, local partners, and community supporters who share a commitment to fight food insecurity and uplift families across metro Atlanta.
“The Harvest Distribution is about more than giving; it’s about restoring dignity and hope,” added Dr. Richmond-Shockley. “When a parent can bring home food for their family and a child can sleep with a full stomach, that’s where hope begins.”
